✨ Spray Tan Prep
Getting that flawless glow starts before the tan! Proper skin prep is the secret to a smooth, even, long-lasting result. Here’s how to get ready:
💆♀️ Plan Treatments Ahead
If you’re getting a facial, massage, manicure, or pedicure—schedule those for before your tan, not after. Your spray tan should be your final beauty treatment before any big event or vacation.
🪒 Shave or Wax 24–48 Hours Ahead
Hair removal should be done at least one full day before your tan. This gives your pores time to close and helps prevent spotting. Don’t exfoliate immediately after shaving or waxing—your skin needs time to calm down. We recommend exfoliating, then shaving at least one day in advance, followed by moisturizer.
🧽 Exfoliate and Moisturize the Day Before
Gently exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment. This helps remove dead skin cells and allows the tan to develop evenly. Pay special attention to dry spots like elbows, knees, ankles, and knuckles. Avoid using exfoliating sugar or salt scrubs; instead, opt for a clear body wash and exfoliating mitt.
🚿 Skip the Shower Right Before
If no lotions, serums, deodorants, makeup, or perfume are on your skin, you can skip showering. Otherwise, take a basic shower 3-4 hours before your tan using a clear gel body wash and opt for cool or lukewarm water. Hot showers right before your session can open your pores and interfere with how the tan sets. Do not shower right before your appointment to avoid pH disruption.
💧 Fresh Skin Only
Make sure there’s no leftover self-tanner, makeup, lotion, deodorant, or oils on your skin. These can block the solution and cause patchy results.
🌞 What to Wear
Come to your appointment with clean, bare skin—no makeup, perfume, deodorant, or lotion. Wear loose, dark clothing, no bra, and open-toed sandals after your tan to avoid smudging. You can wear as much or as little as you feel comfortable with while being tanned. If preferred, we have disposable nipple covers, backless bras, and thongs for your use. Our solution is water-soluble and should come out of most fabrics. However, there are some fabrics that the solution could possibly stain.
✨ Final Tip
Your skin should be bare, clean, and dry for the best results. Trust the prep—your glow will thank you!
