Meet your glow gal.

Hi! I’m Jess—founder of Bronzed Ritual, newlywed, dog mom, and spray tan enthusiast.

I recently married my best friend, Davis, on a tiny island in Belize (yes, it was just as dreamy as it sounds!). We met while working in the beer industry, and craft beer is still one of our favorite shared hobbies. These days, you can usually catch us hanging poolside with friends or at a local brewery with our fur baby, Stella, in tow.

By day, I’m an event planner and project manager, bringing people and ideas together in the business world. Bronzed Ritual was born from my love of helping others feel confident, cared for, and totally glowing in their own skin.

I’m always trying a new craft project, curating my indoor jungle, or snapping photos on my film camera. I believe self-care should be simple, intentional, and make you feel amazing—which is exactly what I hope to bring to your doorstep.

Bronzed Ritual is a body-positive, LGBTQ+ inclusive space where everyone is welcome to glow.

Let’s glow!

FAQs

Do you have a studio?

Nope! Bronzed Ritual is 100% mobile, which means I bring the glow straight to you—in the comfort of your own home.

Why choose mobile over a studio?

Mobile tanning is all about convenience, comfort, and privacy.

✨ No rushing through traffic or smudging your tan on the ride home.
✨ You get to tan in your own space, where you can chill in loose clothing immediately after.
✨ It’s perfect for busy schedules, self-care nights, and friend group glow-ups.

All I need is a small area (about 5x10 feet) with hard floors and at least 7' ceilings, and I’ll take care of the rest—including setup and cleanup. It's the glow-up, minus the hassle.

What is a spray tan and how does it work?

Spray tanning involves misting a solution with DHA (a plant-based sugar) onto your skin. DHA reacts with amino acids in the outer layer of your skin, gradually developing into a golden-brown color over 24 hours. You’ll see instant color when sprayed—this is just a cosmetic bronzer that washes off after your first rinse. The depth of your final tan depends on your skin tone and how long you let the solution develop (usually 2 to 4 hours).

Is it safe?

Yes! Spray tanning is a much safer alternative to sun exposure. DHA has been FDA-approved for decades and adverse reactions are extremely rare. Our solutions are 100% Vegan and made with all-natural ingredients, including aloe vera, argan oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and coffee. If you’ve had skin sensitivities in the past, request a patch test before your appointment. It’s also important to tan in a well-ventilated area.

Will I turn orange or streaky?

Never—as long as you follow the prep steps! We use a customized technique and a high-quality solution to ensure your tan is even and natural. Moisturizing daily helps your tan fade gradually and evenly over 5–10 days.

When should I schedule my spray tan in my beauty routine?

To get the best results, your spray tan should be the last step in your beauty routine (before hair styling or makeup, of course 😉).

Here’s the ideal timeline:

2–3 days before: Waxing, facials, manicures, pedicures, or massages
1–2 days before: Exfoliate, then shave, and moisturize
Day of your appointment: Clean, dry skin—no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup

What should I wear during the tan?

Whatever you’re comfortable with! You can go nude, wear dark undergarments or a swimsuit, or use the disposable options provided, which include nipple covers (recommended for clients who are breastfeeding), a disposable backless bra, and a disposable thong. Just keep in mind that anything you wear may leave tan lines or pick up some bronzer.

What should I wear after the tan?

Loose, dark clothing is best. Tight clothes, shoes, or synthetic fabrics can rub the tan while it’s developing. Flip-flops and breathable cotton are ideal.

Can I go in the sun or use tanning beds afterward?

You can, but your spray tan won’t protect you from UV rays. Always wear sunscreen when outdoors—even if you look tan!

How dark will I get?

That depends on your natural skin tone and how long you leave the tan on before rinsing. We will help select the right depth for your desired glow.

What happens during my appointment?

We arrive, set up a pop-up tent, and talk through your goals and skin tone. A light barrier cream is applied to your hands and dry areas, then we apply the custom tan. The entire process takes about 20-30 minutes. You'll receive aftercare instructions before we leave.

What should I expect after my first rinse?

Your initial rinse will wash off the cosmetic bronzer, not your actual tan. Don’t worry—your color will continue to develop over the next several hours. Avoid soap, heat, and scrubbing for the first 24 hours.

Am I too old to get a spray tan?

Absolutely not! Spray tans are for every age, every stage, and every body. Whether you want a little boost of confidence, a warm glow for an event, or just some feel-good self-care, you’re never “too old” to enjoy it.

At Bronzed Ritual, I’ve designed the experience to be comfortable, inclusive, and customized to your skin tone and goals—no matter your age. Everyone deserves to feel radiant.

Am I too young to get a spray tan?

Spray tans are safe for most ages, but at Bronzed Ritual, I require all clients to be at least 13 years old. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent, and undergarments must be worn during the service.

Who should not get a spray tan?

If you’ve had allergic reactions to tanning products or have breathing concerns, or take medication for a blood clotting disorder or high blood pressure, check with your doctor before booking. Pregnant clients should also consult their physician before getting sprayed. Learn More
